ScreenDuty

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Goodland Equity Partners Inc. (“we,” “us,” “our”) handles information in connection with ScreenDuty (“the Software”).

1. Information We Collect

From parents (account holders):

  • Email address (for account creation and alert delivery)
  • Payment information (processed securely by our payment provider; we do not store card details)
  • Device information (macOS version, for compatibility)

From monitored devices:

ScreenDuty does NOT transmit monitoring data to our servers. All monitoring data (screenshots, activity logs, session reports) is:

  • Generated and stored locally on the monitored device.
  • Sent directly from the device to the parent's email via the Resend email service.
  • Never uploaded to, processed by, or stored on our infrastructure.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Screenshots or screen recordings of the monitored child.
  • Browsing history, keystrokes, or personal communications.
  • Location data.
  • Contact lists, photos, or files on the monitored device.
  • Any data about the child beyond what is needed for real-time class monitoring.

3. How We Use Information

  • To provide and maintain the Software.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To send account-related communications (billing, updates, security notices).
  • To provide customer support.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

  • Payment processing: Your payment data is handled by our payment processor (e.g., Stripe) under their own privacy policy.
  • Email delivery: Alert emails are sent via Resend. Email content passes through their infrastructure but is not stored long-term.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

ScreenDuty is a tool for parents, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Software monitors application usage on the surface level (active window name, URLs visited) and does not access, collect, or transmit children's personal data to our servers.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your account information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Monitoring data stored locally on the monitored device is subject to the security of that device.

7. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active and for 30 days after cancellation.
  • Local monitoring data: Stored on the monitored device until manually deleted by the parent. We have no access to this data.
  • Email alerts: Stored in your email inbox according to your email provider's retention policies.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@hcre.ca.

9. International Users

ScreenDuty is operated from the United States. If you access the Software from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Software, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Your continued use of the Software constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
